Speech Language Therapy
at The Morris Centers
Our speech language pathologists help children and adults who have language skill deficits which may cause learning differences. Our certified speech pathologists use the research-based and evidence-based NOW! Programs™ to improve the foundational language skills needed to communicate better, read more fluently, and achieve success in school and business.

Our Approach
Research has shown that a transdisciplinary, intensive approach is most effective for treating speech pathology disorders and the learning difficulties that often accompany them. Our licensed professionals work with each client to strengthen their phonological awareness/processing skills. Our speech language pathology services are available as part of our transdisciplinary, intensive treatment for adults and children. We also offer adult and pediatric speech therapy as a standalone service to those who are not enrolled in our intensive, transdisciplinary program.

Why Morris Center’s Speech Language Therapy Services?
Our unique, neurodevelopmental approach to speech pathology stimulates phonemic awareness: the ability to recognize that words consist of a sequence of individual sounds. Based on the theoretical models and enhanced through extensive research by the professionals at The Morris Centers, language pathology clients are taught to become conscious of the mouth movements that produce speech sounds. This awareness allows for the verification of sounds within words and enables individuals to become self-correcting in speech, as well as in reading and spelling.
