NOW! Mental Imagery®

for Language, Comprehension, Memory and Reasoning®

Mental imagery – the ability to form thought pictures or to visualize what you hear or read – plays a big part in understanding and retaining information. For those who struggle with mental imagery, much of their brain power goes to sounding out words, leaving little capacity to remember and understand. NOW! Mental Imagery® is a research-based, scientifically proven program that uses tested methodologies to develop and strengthen this critical ability.

Improves These Learning Difficulties

Visualizing what you hear or read comes naturally to many people, but if you or your child have dyslexia or other learning differences, it may be difficult. NOW! Mental Imagery® strengthens the skills that are required to visualize written or spoken language. Improving these basic skills makes a dramatic difference in the ability to understand language in any form.

NOW! Mental Imagery® Course Builds Confidence

After completing the NOW! Mental Imagery® course, learners enjoy a marked improvement in reading and listening comprehension skills, information retention, vocabulary and spoken language skills. By developing the ability to visualize language (we call this skill creating mental movies), students can use and apply written or spoken information on the first try, building confidence and self-esteem.

Why NOW! Mental Imagery®?

Because It Helps Children and Adult Learners Understand

Making Movies

Making mental movies from text or speech is a natural process for people who comprehend without difficulty. People with dyslexia or other learning differences often do not create these mental images.

Building on the Basics

As students become more fluent and organized, we give them more complex pictures to describe. We ask them to recreate images from memory, describing them while holding onto the mental information in their heads.

We Start with the Basics

Visual imagery development begins at a basic, concrete level. We ask students to describe simple pictures in a systematic and organized way, teaching them how language can give clear, concise and accurate information.

Describing Words

Once fluent at the picture level, students work to describe words. Making movies from single words helps build vocabulary skills and improves retention. We progress to longer chunks of information. One word becomes a sentence, then multiple sentences.

Starting Simple

Research shows that memory improves when visual and verbal systems work well together. Starting with simple tasks and building to more complex exercises gives the student a feeling of success. Confidence improves, and learners can better use and apply what they read as their visualization skills improve.

Empower Learners

The greatest gift you can give yourself or your child is the tools to understand the world. Understanding empowers learners with unlimited potential. Unlock a world where learning means success, confidence, and self-esteem and those feelings build on each other for greater life satisfaction.

MARCI’S STORY
“That’s Why We’re Here”

You know they are intelligent, but for many students they cannot read effortlessly and efficiently and accurately like their sibling or classmates. You know they excel in other areas and try to learn all they can, but for some they cannot spell. You know the love to share new discoveries with you, but for some they struggle to find their words.

CANNON’S JOURNEY
“The World Needs to Know”

Boys who are nearly teenagers and are still struggling with Dyslexia’s slow or inaccurate reading skills have typically lost interest, lost hope and adamantly do NOT want to pursue anymore “Dyslexia” treatment programs. Cannon was no different, but after a few weeks he noticed something was different.
