For a limited time, The Morris Center (TMC) welcomes exceptional applicants to join a dynamic, caring and dedicated transdisciplinary team that provides cutting-edge assessment and treatment services for children and young adults with developmental sensory, motor, language, attention and behavior difficulties. TMC is offering one, salaried Full-time (40+ hours/week) position with benefits. Our private clinic follows a research-based, sensory integration approach within a transdisciplinary team (Occupational Therapy, child/adolescent Psychiatry (consultant), Neuropsychology, Clinical Psychology, Speech Pathology, Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics (consultant), and highly trained educators).
The ideal, highly qualified Psychologist enjoys collaborating with a team of professionals to provide direct care to a range of clients (e.g. local FL/GA, national USA and international clients from the Caribbean, Central and South America). The chosen professional will also provide inservices for team members, school liaison and parent education at our OCALA, Florida clinic; we have a 2nd clinic in Gainesville, FL.
TMC’s research-based, intensive treatment program achieves above average gains in sensory, motor and language skills (>1 SD of improvement) in a few months of treatment, due to our transdisciplinary and intensive treatment model. A component of our research-based and team treatment program includes an intensive treatment model for delivery of services, e.g. 1-2 hours of OT per DAY and commonly 1-5 hours of language therapy per day, 5-days per week). OT with a sensory integration focus is a key component of this assessment and treatment team. The selected applicant will help the team make dramatic changes in children’s and adults’ sensory/motor, language, behavior, attention, mood and academic skills.
This Psychologist position also offers the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and skills as a member of a truly transdisciplinary team by learning the theoretical and clinical models/methods used by the collaborating disciplines, being exposed to TMC’s federally funded research findings – published in professional, peer-reviewed journals. The new OT will have the option to contribute to ongoing research projects, including professional presentations and publication of research or clinical case study findings.
